I’m an emergency doc, public health researcher, and humanitarian aid worker based in Los Angeles. I spend half my time working with Doctors without Borders providing humanitarian aid and medical care to vulnerable populations in crisis situations around the world. The other half of the year I work in the Emergency Department at LA County hospital at the University of Southern California in the Division of International Emergency Medicine where I teach and mentor residents and students about global health. I also conduct research on humanitarian interventions for urban settings and urban refugees, as well as innovation in the humanitarian sector and the epidemiology of disease outbreaks.
